They call her the “Didge Mother of Holland”
Lies Beijerinck, professional Didgeridoo artist and teacher, with her classical background (Harp and Cello), now with human beat-box, mouth harp and singing harmonics as extra ingredients, she developed her own style.
This she shows at music festivals and theatres across Europe, Central- and South America, Australia and South Africa.
Some highlights: DJ Tiësto Concert at Gelredome, Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wakefield Cathedral and Glastonbury festival.
She feels at ease in different bands and music genres, from contemporary classical to dance, from indian classical to african percussion.
Lies has followed master-classes in Australia with Djalu Gurruwiwi.
Furthermore she is teaching didgeridoo workshops ranging from beginners to master classes and is hoping to open doors for female didgeridoo artists across the world, hence her nickname ‘Didge mother’.
Every year Lies goes to South Africa as part of the Klawer program to help educate and inspire underprivileged children through music.
